BABIP
Batting Average on Balls In Play. The percentage of hits on balls in play. Calculated by (H-HR)/(AB-K-HR-SF)

BABIP-IFB

It’s mostly true that pitchers have little control over their balls in play, so if a pitcher is too far from the league average BABIP his performance is likely going to regress to the mean. However, one reliable way a pitcher has to control his BABIP is by inducing popups. Since popups have the same result as a strikeout 99% of the time (batter is out, runners can’t advance) BABIP-IFB treats popups the same as a strikeout, and removes them from the denominator of BABIP.

GScr
Game Score. Developed by Bill James to determine the strength of a starting pitcher during a game. Calculated by starting at 50 points, adding a point for every out recorded, two points for every inning finished passed the fourth, and one point for every strike out. You then subtract two points for every hit allowed, four points for each earned run, two points for each unearned run, and one point for each walk

SIERA
Skill-Interactive Earned Run Average. Developed by Baseball Prospectus SIERA accounts for how run prevention improves as ground ball rate increases and declines as more whiffs are accrued, while grounders are of more materiality for those who allow a surplus of runners. The formula for SIERA is: SIERA = 6.145 Ð 16.986*(SO/PA) + 11.434*(BB/PA) Ð 1.858*((GB-FB-PU)/PA) + 7.653*((SO/PA)^2) +/Ð 6.664*(((GB-FB-PU)/PA)^2) + 10.130*(SO/PA)*((GB-FB-PU)/PA) Ð 5.195*(BB/PA)*((GB-FB-PU)/PA) where the +/- term is a negative sign when (GB-FB-PU)/PA is positive and vice versa.
