Unlike regular sports, esports is vastly different, firstly in the sense that it is played using a computer. It is more suited for those people who prefer to stay at home, just like online gambling with Betano bonus is suited for those people who like to have fun at home without visiting real casinos. One must think that sitting by a computer and being incredibly good at a certain game, earning lots of money and living a good life is somehow devalued by the fact that esports isn’t actually sports. The people who think that are wrong and have obviously never experienced the difference in skill in any game, between an average player and a world-class professional. Maybe they should try some of the world’s best esports titles and they might change their minds.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
CS: GO is an amazing game in its own simplicity. Either kill all the terrorists or counter-terrorists, or plant/defuse the bomb. Everybody can win, or rather, the best team can. Valve has done a great job of making the game relatively good and stable, great towards new and old players alike. As a first-person shooter, it is as classic as they get, in terms of esports titles. It has a huge fan base and winning any Major counts a lot.
League of Legends
Easily one of the most popular games in the world, especially in terms of esports. Many teams have sponsors from various car manufacturers like Lexus, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and many more, not to mention local sponsors and other larger dogs. League of Legends is a MOBA and a very popular one, at that, with huge player bases, especially in China.
The World Championship tournament, hosted annually, is an amazing effect, especially with the addition of great SFX workers, who make the entire experience that much better.
Fortnite
This game took everyone by surprise in 2017 when it launched, spawning a ton of memes about very young people earning upwards of a million dollars per year. Epic Games decided to make a battle royale, cartoonish game, where everyone gets the chance to win. The game is special from a perspective of building. You can have materials and build everywhere, making your survival chances better if you are adept at building.
Fortnite has a lot of players and a huge prize pool, yet their level of gameplay is yet to reach elite status, due to the game’s youth.
DotA2
The Defence of the Ancients 2 is a game released by Valve in 2013. Over the years, it got lots of reworks and remodelling, until it became a lot better than it was initially. It grew instantly as an esports title, especially due to the previous version’s popularity. The prize pool is large and there are a plethora of great players and teams, fighting for The Invitational trophy.
Rainbow 6: Siege
This game is interesting from a tactical standpoint. The game has a very unique twist in the sense that the environment is destructible and you can use it to your advantage. Teams change roles of attacker and defender in rescuing a hostage, diffusing a bomb or capturing a location. Their Pro league was around since 2016 and the world already has its own multiple regions. While not the most popular game, it is played and watched to an extent worth mentioning here.
These are the world’s 5 most popular esports titles, which you could download and play today, for free (except Rainbow 6).
